A 100 people must have packed in the beautiful Perkins Mansion. Our talk: Islam 101. The question: What can we do to prevent radicalization amongst the youth? The take-away: We need to address bullying of children in schools. It leads to isolation, making youth vulnerable to radicalization through the internet.

Only in America! At Sunday Services, my husband called the Adhan - the Muslim call to prayer, and I was asked to read the Call to Worship. Church of St. Francis Xavier. February 3, 2017
"You have sanctified the place," Father Sean Toole said to Sheikh Abdul Rasheed, after he performed the ceremony of Zihkr (remembrance of God) at the Church of St. Francis Xavier. It is Interfaith Harmony Week, and the church held "A Conversation on Understanding, Respect, and Solidarity Among Faith Religions". Rabbi Leah Berkowitz and Rabbi Perry Berkowitz's appeal for solidarity & support of Muslims brought tears to my eyes. "I shudder," said Rabbi Berkowitz, drawing parallels with the events preceding the holocaust. Many embraces followed. I am warm all over with all the hugs I got.

Book Party.  January 29, 2017

The more interesting discussion took place after the book reading, and after the Q&A. I walked away with business cards, leads to more events, and a lunch and coffee date. It was probably the largest audience I have read to. What a supportive group!

 Daughters of Abraham

Daughters of Abraham

The Transition Network. January 26, 2017
In a beautiful living room setting, we had an even more beautiful interfaith dialogue. What started as a discussion of values, led to a 'how can we support each other', and a tangible to-do list. 'The Daughters of Abraham in Dialogue' was launched; we will go to Muslim events together, join one another for faith events in our living rooms and in public places, do speaking events, volunteer together, sign up for newsletters from Muslim organizations and hear the voices of moderation speak out....

So, is there a parallel between Shariah and the American Constitution? You bet the discussion was spirited. I love this place, the participants are so well informed, so curious, they ask great questions, and want more, more, and more. This session was on Family Law.
